Priyadarshan and Mohanlal, the ace director-actor pair, are widely regarded as Malayalam cinema's success machine. They've collaborated on several films, most of which have been box office smashes. On May 13, the 1994 rom-com Thenmavin Kombath, directed by Priyadarshan and starring Mohanlal, celebrated its 28th anniversary.

Sreekrishnan Thampuran (Nedumudi Venu) and Manikyan (Mohanlal) are two closest friends who are willing to go to any length to help one other. However, they fall in love with the same lady and become arch-enemies.

The film was the highest-grossing film of the year, and Malayalam film fans continue to adore and admire it.

Shobana, Nedumudi Venu, Kaviyoor Ponnamma, KPAC Lalitha, Sukumari, Sreenivasan, Sankaradi, and Sharat Saxena were among the cast members of Thenmavin Kombath.

The makers were rumored to have enlisted music director R.D. Burman to write music for this picture back in the day, but after his death, the director engaged Berny-Ignatius to offer the background soundtrack. Berny-Ignatius went on to win Best Music Director at the Kerala State Film Awards.

The film received five Kerala State Film Awards after a 250-day theatrical run. It pleaded with K.V Anand's assistant to win the National Award for finest cinematography for PC Sreeram. On the other hand, Sabu Cyril got the National Prize for production design.

The film with an outstanding narrative was recreated in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Bengal, and it made many people laugh out loud.
